Student / Parent Orientation Program (SPOP)

Welcome to the UC Irvine! We are thrilled you are joining us this fall. The Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) is offered many times each summer in July and August for new freshmen. A special program for transfer students is being offered twice in June and July.

If you are a freshman, SPOP is mandatory. SPOP offers a comprehensive orientation to UCI. Academic advising, program planning and class registration are part of all the programs for freshman. Campus tours, social activities and meeting current and new UCI students are also available at SPOP. You can attend SPOP with or without your parents/guardian ...whatever works for you! (Students participating in CAMP or Summer Bridge do not attend SPOP)

There is a fee to attend SPOP (2 day, 1 night program) and scholarships are available for students who qualify. Parents can participate, for a fee, on Day 2 of each SPOP. There will be special presentations and workshops just for them. Students stay in the residence halls for the one night and get a taste of on campus living (and food).
