The Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) is offered many times each summer in July and August for new freshmen. A special program for transfer students (see below) is offered once in June and once in July.
If you are a freshman, SPOP is mandatory (unless you are attending Summer Bridge or CAMP). SPOP offers a comprehensive orientation to UCI. Academic advising, program planning and class registration are part of all the programs for freshman. Campus tours, social activities and meeting current and new UCI students are also available at SPOP. There is a fee to attend orientation. Dates for SPOP 2010 are listed below:

Sign ups for SPOP 2010 will begin on May 26, 2010 at 9:00 am for Campuswide Honors students, Athletes & students registered with the Disability Services Center. All other students can sign up beginning on June 1, 2010 at 9:00 am. *
* If you have an interest in attending Summer Session 2, you should sign up for one of the first 4 SPOP's. Space is limited & offered on a first come, first serve basis.

Transfer Success Program
The transfer experience at UCI should be positive and enriching, both academically and socially. The "Transfer Success" orientation seeks to promote this by exposing transfer students to the various resources and services available on campus.
In addition, new students will have an opportunity to meet current UCI students and learn the "survival secrets" from the pros! This is an optional program and does NOT include academic advising.
