Whether you are a new student
just starting your UCI career or a prospective student
thinking about coming to UCI, we have a number of
opportunties and programs for you.
The Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) is offered many times each summer in July and August for new freshmen. A special program for transfer students (Transfer Success) is offered once in June and once in July.
If you are a freshman, SPOP is mandatory*. SPOP offers a comprehensive orientation to UCI. Academic advising, program planning and class registration are part of all the programs for freshman. Campus tours, social activities and meeting current and new UCI students are also available at SPOP. There is a fee to attend orientation. Dates for the Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) 2010 can be found here www.dos.uci.edu/orientation.
Additional information on sign-ups and program content will be available in mid January.
*Students participating in Summer Bridge or CAMP do not attend SPOP.
The week Fall quarter
begins, we host special programs and events geared
toward integrating students into campus life. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are devoted to getting connected and taking care of business (like buying books) Welome Week 2009 events can be viewed here:
Welcome Week 2009
The
official opening of the academic year. Held each year on the Monday of Welcome Week.
Celebrate UCI is our
annual Open House! It is one of the campus' oldest
and most festive traditions. It is an excellent
opportunity for prospective students to check
out the campus, current students to invite family
and friends to see their "home away from home"
and alumni to return and see what's new.
