Passport Leadership
UCI LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
For those interested,
the option is available to acquire a UCI Leadership
Certificate through participation in a minimum
of seven leadership seminars during the academic
year. UCI Leadership Certificate requirements
are below:

Step 2: Review Your Options
Students can earn a Passport to Leadership certificate
by completing seven workshops throughout the year
including three mandatory sessions. Students who
attend these three mandatory workshops and four
workshops of their choice will receive the General
Leadership certificate.
All students must complete the three following
mandatory sessions:
1. What’s Your Leadership Style?
2. Public Speaking 101
3. Our Diverse Communities: What Every Leader
Should Know
Participants also have the option to select a
specific theme of leadership. In addition to completing
the three mandatory workshops, students can tailor
their experience by selecting either the Entrepreneurial
or Civic Engagement concentration. Students can
earn a certificate using one of the following
combinations:
3 Mandatory sessions + 4 of any session = General
Leadership Certificate
3 Mandatory sessions + 4 Entrepreneurial sessions
= Entrepreneurial Leadership Certificate
3 Mandatory sessions + 4 Civic Engagement sessions
= Civic Engagement Leadership Certificate
All participants must complete at least seven
workshops to earn a certificate. Check out the
Passport website for additional on-campus events
that are included in the Passport series. Such
events include, but are not limited to participation
in the Campus Organization Leadership Retreat,
MLK Day of Service, and Alternative Break Programs.
Students may use up to 3 of these additional events
as credits toward the
certificate.
Step 3: Attend Sessions
A list of workshops offered all year is included
in this brochure as well as our website. Check
the Passport website throughout the year for any
changes and updates. Be sure to:
- Sign the attendance sheet at the workshop
- Fill out an evaluation form
- Get your passport stamped for the session
- Check the Passport website
Step 4: Celebrate
All participants who complete seven workshops, including
the three mandatory sessions, will receive an invitation
for a Passport to Leadership celebration. Guests
will receive their Passport Certificate at this
event. Be sure to check your email in the spring
quarter for more details.
